two-thirds desert the variety of plants, birds, animals etc. is enormous.
Al-Maghtas, The Baptism Site, Rabbbath Ammon, Edom, Moab, Gilead, Gad and
Peraea are all biblical names found in the Old and New Testaments that can still be seen
in modern day Jordan. The Medeba of the Bible is the small town of Madaba (City of
Mosaics). Follow in the footsteps of Moses. Visit Mount Haroon where the brother of Moses
is buried and Mount Nebo where Moses saw the Promised Land for the first and only time and
where he was later buried. Visit Lot’s Cave, where Lot and his family took refuge when
the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were being destroyed and see the pillar of salt that
Lot’s wife was turned into when she disobeyed God and looked back at Sodom. Follow the
early Christian pilgrimage routes. Discover the golden age of Islam with its superb art
and architecture. Investigate the history of the Crusaders. 
The crystal clear waters of the Gulf of Aqaba, with sea temperatures
varying between 22C and 25C, provide the ideal environment for some of the most
spectacular coral reefs and tropical fishes in the world. It is home to 110 species of
hard coral and 120 species of soft coral and approximately 1,000 species of fish. You can
add a few fun dives, an introductory dive for first-timers or a fully accredited PADI
